Ballerina

I love Ballerina! I love Abi and Faith! I hope you see my movie.

Imagination

Today while we were driving in the car, I was counting... "1, 2, 3, 4, 7." Mommy and William tried to tell me that I meant "5." But I straightened them out. I declared, "Hey! I have an imagination!"

After learning from William's friend Ivy at church this morning that boys are "'gusting" (what does 'gusting mean?), I decided that my room is for girls only. I am sad about Daddy. He is a boy, so he can't come in my room. Neither can Michael or Skippyjon Jones [today's favorite book character]. But William can come in to jump on my bed.

This evening William and I were playing clowns. William called us the "Undies." That's funny, right? We wear silly things on our heads like pillows, pencils, and roses tied with ribbons. We put on funny shows. I might include some of my great [completely random] knock-knock jokes in the show. They always make my family laugh.

Important announcement!

Cheese is having a baby! Cheese is my new friend. He is a fly. Nevermind that he is a boy having a baby, he is a grown-up. Cheese is having a baby after lunch.

[Editor's note: Based on the sheer number of times she has repeated this announcement, I decided it was worthy of its own blog post.]

My jokes

Today when we were driving in the car, I told these two funny jokes.

"Once, when I was outside, I saw a mosquito getting people bites."

"I have another one.
Once there was a little girl. Her was funny!"

A week in my life

Sunday - I go to church where I first grab a fun bag of stuff to do. Then I try to be brave enough to go up with William to hear the children's message. Finally, I work on being quiet when it's pastor's turn to talk.

Monday - We started homeschool group every other week. The first time was this week. It was fun to play with the other three-year-olds while William was in his classes.

Tuesday - I get to play with my friends at Tracy's house! I know the first letters in a lot of my friend's names, especially Z for Zachary, who I am going to marry. I tried to ask him, but he didn't hear me. Or maybe he didn't understand. Karen is helping me with that. I get to go to speech with her on Tuesday afternoons.

Wednesday - Another morning at Tracy's house! In the afternoon, we bring William to piano lessons and run some errand. Today we helped Mommy in her Sunday school room. I made two paper bag lions to hang on the wall for decoration.

Thursday - Homeschool park days are done now, so all I have is speech in the afternoon.

Friday - I can't wait for Janie's class! I'm very excited. I thought I was done with ECFE after last year, but I loved Janie's class so much that Mom put me back in it.

Saturday - Maybe there will be another Johnnie football game. I love riding the bus from the parking lot to the stadium. And the Johnnie rats and Bennie dancers are fun to watch. We always have great snacks, run around, and play. The whole family gets excited for games. The weather has been fabulous for both games so far. I like that word, fabulous!

I know, I have a busy calendar for a three-year-old. But if you'd ever like to get together to play dress-up or dolls, I'll try to squeeze you in!

More things I say...

After sticking J96B3IE on the side of the tub with foam letters: "That spells 'lullaby.'"

Pulling up to the cash machine at the bank's drive-thru: "I don't want cash! I want stickers!"

While sharing a Shirley Temple with my cousin Lauren after Great-grandma Richard's funeral, Mommy said, "Eliana's in heaven right now." I said: "What???"

In the library book store, excitedly holding up a steamy romance novel with an amorous couple on the cover: "Look, Momma! My first chapter book!"

When the cat returned from getting shots at the vet: "Did her get a band-aid?"

Things I Say...

Mama, can we play water balloons? (looking up at the hot air balloon water tower)
Feed the world, ducklings in a bag. (changing the lyrics of Feed the Birds)
What's that under your drawers? (pointing to Mommy's dresser)
I am wearing my sleeping crown.
Mommy, when you grow up, you will be strong and wise like my daddy.

(I may add to this post as I think of more cute and funny things to say.)

Fun weekend

This weekend we went to the parade! I got lots of candy, tatoos, and a slinky. I was really excited to see the horses. But my favorite thing was dancing along with the marching bands.

The next day we went to my mommy's cousin's wedding. There were lots of babies there! It was really fun. I wore nail polish and my tatoos from the parade. I got lots of compliments!

Then we went to the lake. It was chilly and the water was so deep! After I begged to have my swimsuit on, I decided I didn't really want to swim after all. William had lots of fun, though.

Another exciting thing at our house is the bird's nest by our front door. The birds are always singing. Yesterday mommy held the camera up to take a picture so we could see how many eggs there were. There are 5! I hope we get to see the baby chicks when they hatch!

Bam Bam Ball

We haven't had ball this week because of the rain, but I'm having fun with it! I was very shy at first. It still takes me a while to warm up to the game. I sit on the bench until my coach puts the pink helmet on my head and the bat in my hand and then the smile comes on my face! I even field the balls when I'm not too busy digging in the dirt or preoccupied with getting my giant glove to stay on my hand. I love it when the crowd cheers for me. I'm the only girl on my team, which is a big reason why I'm so shy at first. But three of the boys are friends from ECFE and one is a friend from daycare, so I certainly have a big cheering section. There are plenty of other girls on the field, just not on my team. Here is a video of one of my first at-bats. Enjoy!

The Nukie Fairy

I'm a big girl now! On Thursday I decided to hang my nukies in a tree so the nukie fairy could come and take them. I knew she would bring me something special in return. And my teeth, despite all my persistent wiggling, were refusing to come out. So I finally resorted to the nuks. We put them in a bag, along with a dandelion for the nukie fairy, and hung them on a tree in the backyard. I left them hanging there all night. When I woke up, the bag was on my pillow, but instead of nukies inside there was an electric Hello Kitty toothbrush, princess jammies and princess stickers! It was very exciting. I brushed my teeth a lot of times that first day. But at bedtime the newness wore off and I got sad and mad. It helped to think about the little babies who now have nuks. I like to think of the story Mommy told me when I asked her what happened to my dandelion. I made sure to ask her to tell it again so I would remember it for you.

"The nukie fairy brought the dandelion home and put it in a special place where she could always look at it and remember, 'That special girl, Eliana, who gave me FIVE nukies last night! What a haul!'"

One day I'll figure out how to fall asleep easily without my nuk. But right now, I'm getting pretty tired. Wish me luck! Good night!
